Data Services

data-services OCHIN’s data comes from a package of Health IT systems that support the activities of our members. These include the practice management systems that support billing and enrollment functions, EHRs that support the management of patient information at the point of care, and the various custom interfaces (e.g., labs, radiology, etc.) that OCHIN has created to bring additional information into the EHR in order to create a more comprehensive picture of patient health. The data sets contains all levels of information – from the lowest granularity to the highest aggregation - as well as a user-friendly interface environment providing all levels of reporting (from detailed custom reports to canned aggregate reports to a click-and-drag business interface to dashboards). All data exchange is governed by agreements that are compliant with applicable laws and regulations governing protected health information.

OCHIN’s data warehouse is tailored to a healthcare environment and uses a innovative architecture that makes the accurate measurement of clinical and operational variables straightforward, thus making it possible to compare metrics easily across different organizations without the need for complicated audits. OCHIN uses proprietary data aggregation, decision support, and quality improvement tools to enable users to conduct panel management and public health review and reporting as well as business intelligence tools that faciliate the use of Health IT systems to support data aggregation and use.

With the capability to aggregate data from any number of vendor sources, OCHIN enables users to interface with, and build on, existing clinical, financial, and operational tools already in place. The standard set of metrics can be compared across departments in a medical group, among unaffiliated medical groups, and across geographic areas creating a common platform for interoperable data exchange that provides the foundations for data-driven analysis, decision-making, and reporting at the provider, clinic, and organizational levels.
