The system facilitates quick access to all information needed to efficiently treat patients, improve the continuity of care, maximize patient safety, and reduce redundant procedures and costs. Imbedded clinical decision support tools remind providers of current clinical guidelines, possible contraindications to care and provide tools for population and disease management.
This offers new members with documentation templates, preformatted scripts, order panels, flow sheets and other tools used in similar organizations to your own. This provides a head start for clinical efficiency and productivity for your providers when they first start to use the system.
OCHIN currently maintains more than 25 lab interfaces, multiple imaging interfaces and in 2009 will also complete the implementation of infrastructure to support the exchange of information with other organizations EHRs.
OCHIN uses this tool for the scanning, indexing and retrieval of clinical information that flows into the clinics from sources that do not already have interfaces.
With this tool, and the power of the collaboration with our members, OCHIN can provide benchmarking across community health centers (including FQHC's and RHC's) small practices and public health departments not available anywhere else.
In addition to the above system, OCHIN has developed a product we call Solutions. Solutions provides OCHIN members with a powerful quality improvement data warehousing tool pre-packaged with 150 clinical and non-clinical metrics used in other large clinical organizations.
